Theme: Birthdays With the American Girls
Our Fall Schedule:
September 14th Kaya 1764 - Nez Perce Indians did not celebrate birthdays, but they did celebrate certain milestones of children as they grew. We are crafting a Trucker hat in honor of Kaya's work hat. We will snack on jerky, berries, and nuts. We will also play some native games and discover what our own Nez Perce name may have been.
October 12 Felicity 1774-We will learn about traditional Birthdays in the New World. We will snack on tarts & cake with Colonial hot chocolate. Our craft will be a pen posie and we will discuss the meaning behind some popular flowers and if time permits we will play games too!
November 9 Caroline 1812- We will explore how Birthdays evolved through the 1800s, by discussing kid's roles during the War of 1812. We will snack on apple pie & caramel cake with apple cider and our craft will be decorating a special wooden box to keep something special in just like Caroline received.
September will kick-off American Girl Birthdays, so make sure you make it to club on your birthday month so that we can celebrate YOU!
FYI- Crafts or snacks may change due to availability or budget.
